Sabah’s energy future focus of SOGCE 2026

Kota Kinabalu: The highly anticipated 13th edition of the Sabah Oil, Gas & Energy Conference & Exhibition (SOGCE) 2026 will return on 25–26 June 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, technology providers, entrepreneurs, academia, and future talent under one dynamic platform dedicated to shaping Sabah’s energy future.
Organised by the multi-award-winning Midas Events Management, SOGCE 2026 carries the timely and forward-looking theme: “Fueling the Future: Driving Energy Innovation for Sustainable Growth”.
Since its inception in 2012, SOGCE has evolved into Sabah’s premier and longest-running oil, gas and energy conference and exhibition, supporting Sabah’s industrial and energy development agenda while positioning the State as an emerging regional energy hub.
Fully supported by the Sabah State Government through the Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MiNDET), SOGCE is expected to attract approximately 400 conference delegates, around 3,000 trade visitors, and more than 80 exhibiting companies occupying approximately 3,500 square metres of exhibition space.
Following a recent courtesy call by SOGCE Organising Chairperson Dolly Jimayol to Datuk Ewon Benedick, Deputy Chief Minister lll and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, the Minister reaffirmed that SOGCE has grown into a successful and prestigious industry platform that has consistently received the support of the Sabah State Government since its inception in 2012, and continues to be deserving of strong government backing moving forward.
The organisers have formally invited Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, Chief Minister of Sabah as Guest of Honour to officiate the Opening Ceremony of the prestige event.
Dolly said that SOGCE 2026 is also expected to welcome international dignitaries and diplomatic and government representatives, including confirmation from His Excellency Marc Abensour, Ambassador of France to Malaysia and His Excellency Mr. Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, reflecting Sabah’s growing international significance within the regional energy ecosystem.
“SOGCE 2026 will once again feature several signing ceremonies between international companies and Sabah-based organisations, underscoring growing confidence in Sabah as an emerging hub for energy investment, strategic partnerships, technology collaboration, and sustainable economic growth.
“Facilitating such collaborations and creating meaningful connections between global industry players and local stakeholders has always been one of the core objectives of SOGCE since its inception,” said Dolly.
A major international highlight this year is the participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Malaysia with seven French companies led by TotalEnergies, alongside exhibitors from the UK, China, India, and Singapore.
Other notable exhibitors include members of the Oil & Gas Division of the Labuan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sabah Oil & Gas Services Council, Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC), Energy Industries Council - APAC, as well as other prominent Malaysian companies from Sabah and Sarawak.

Beyond business and policy discussions, SOGCE 2026 also places strong emphasis on youth development and future talent through several integrated side programmes, including the Future Leaders Hub in collaboration with North Borneo University, the Young Professionals Programme featuring Pocket Talks by Shell Malaysia, STEM-related initiatives, and the Energy Career Aspirations Networking Series (ECANS), led by passionate industry advocates committed to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of energy professionals as part of the corporate social responsibility initiatives supported by Midas Events Management.
