LABUAN’S oil and gas industry players, in marking their fourth consecutive year of active participation, made a strong impression at the Sabah Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (SOGCE) 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

Led by the Labuan Chamber of Commerce (LCC), Labuan’s consistent involvement reflects its commitment to supporting Sabah’s oil and gas sector and fostering regional growth.

This year’s delegation featured a robust line-up of companies, including Nawie Oilfield Services, BSL Containers, Borneo Subsea, LJ Resources, Labuan Shipyard Engineering, Tiger Oilfield, Universal Service Office, Alpha Testing, International Shipcare, DB Logistics and Saillion Shipping.

Their presence showcased Labuan’s capabilities in oil and gas services, maritime support, logistics, engineering and technical expertise, strengthening its role as a key contributor to the regional energy ecosystem.

A major highlight was Nawie Oilfield Services signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Prodeo Energy Sdn Bhd, Exwell Oilfield Engineering Pte Ltd and Schlumberger (WTA) Sdn Bhd, a move that signals growing confidence in Labuan-based companies to lead in regional collaboration and innovation.

Daniel Doughty, who led the Labuan delegation, emphasised the strategic importance of their participation.

“The presence of Labuan industry players is crucial to ensure we remain relevant in the evolving oil and gas landscape.

“With our mature ecosystem, Labuan is well-positioned to continue adding value to Sabah’s development,” said Doughty.

In addition to business networking, the event was also seen as a platform to promote the upcoming Borneo Flora Festival (BFF), scheduled for August.

Supported by Labuan Corporation, the BFF aimed to celebrate Borneo’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, aligning with Labuan’s broader goals of sustainable regional development.

The exhibition 2025 continues to be a vital platform for industry players to exchange ideas, showcase innovations and explore partnerships.

Labuan’s growing involvement has set the importance of regional synergy in building a resilient and dynamic oil and gas industry across Borneo.
