For the last 6 years, SOGCE have attracted and benefitted more than 300 exhibiting companies (Petronas, Shell, Murphy, Repsol, Technip, Halliburton, SIRIM, Sabah International Petroleum, UMW Oil and Gas, MMHE, SEDCO, Aker Solutions, Asian Supply Base, SSTC, Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation, KNM Petrosab Engineering, TAS Academy, Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd, to name a few), about 1200 conference delegates (98% comes from oil and gas companies from UK, Philippines, USA, Netherlands, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia), 15,000 professional visitors from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Australia, UK, Netherlands and USA,  as well as students from UMS, UITM, and Secondary schools in Kota Kinabalu. Our local media covered SOGCE for about 2 weeks from the event dates onwards.  Our main media partner is Daily Express.

SOGCE is created to assist the state government in promoting the Oil and Gas Industry in Sabah and our general theme is “Opportunities and Growth in the Sabah Oil and Gas Industry”.  Every year we have different sub-theme, namely “Finding a New Balance” (SOGCE 2016), and “Harnessing Workforce Capability in the Oil & Gas Industry and Health, Safety & Environment”   (SOGCE 2017).  Starting from 2019, SOGCE will be organised biennially. This time, SOGCE 2019's theme is "Shaping the Future of Oil and Gas Industry in Sabah".

SOGCE provides a one-stop centre for suppliers of technologies, experts in the oil and gas industry together with policy makers to discuss the challenges and solutions, charting the way forward in the promotion of the oil and gas industry in Sabah.  Participants of SOGCE such as local contractors and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to be involved in the oil and gas business, professionals from corporations and oil and gas companies, relevant heads of government departments, oil and gas associations, NGOs, undergraduates, post graduates and secondary students are the beneficiaries of SOGCE.

 

In 2015, 2016 and 2017, as a result of SOGCE’s presence, we reached a key milestone where collaboration agreements between Sabah local companies and established large oil and gas companies, witnessed by the event’s Guest of Honour, were signed at SOGCE events. The main purpose of these collaborative agreements are to create and promote local contents in the oil and gas industry supply chain. The signing ceremonies were covered broadly by local media.  SOGCE will remain the premium oil and gas conference and exhibition in the state of Sabah.

Our Conference will continue to be more meaningful than on any other given situation as many important areas in the oil and gas industry will be shared and discussed among oil and gas experts with the objective to equip them with the right industry tools and technologies in the face of challenging situation.  This is pertinent for the continuous development and sustainability of the oil and gas industry in order to stay robust in this shifting global energy market.

This conference and exhibition will be held on 10th July 2019 (Wednesday) and 11th July 2019 (Thursday) at the Magellan Sutera Harbour Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.
